ABC Opens Berlin Bureau: ABC News announced it has opened a Berlin news bureau with offices in both East and West Berlin. Pat Sullivan, who’s been a producer in New York, has been named bureau chief and producer for ABC in Berlin. Correspondent Jerry King, who has reported from Frankfurt since June 1988, will also be based in Berlin. Although ABC said Tuesday that this “is the first news bureau opened in Berlin by a U.S. television network since World War II,” NBC News countered that claim, saying that it has had offices in East and West Berlin since December.
