Space shuttle Atlantis, strapped to the back of a Boeing 747 for a return trip to Kennedy Space Center in Florida, was grounded at Biggs Army Airfield on Sunday because of storms, officials said.

NASA officials said they would decide today when the shuttle could continue its trip.

Atlantis landed at Edwards Air Force Base in California last week, completing a military mission that included putting a photo-reconnaissance satellite in orbit.
