The Brea Police Department will conduct a St. Patrick’s Day sobriety checkpoint from 6 p.m. tonight until 3 a.m. Sunday.
The checkpoint will screen westbound traffic only at the corner of Imperial Highway and Viking Avenue. Officers will stop some motorists entering the checkpoint and screen them for driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, police said.
Imperial Highway in Brea and Yorba Linda has been the site of more than 30% of the department’s drunk driving arrests in recent years, officers said.
