Reward Posted for Machine’s Return

An Anaheim company is offering a $200 reward for return of a stolen test machine, warning that radioactive material it contains could become a health risk.

Dave Brown, field services manager for the soil-engineering company Moore & Taber, said Saturday that the machine, which analyzes soil samples, poses no health risk unless dismantled.

“Safety is our main concern,” Brown said. “We don’t want to see anyone get hurt.”

When stolen, the tester was inside an orange plastic box. The machine is a one-foot-square steel box with a 1 1/2-foot rod extending to a handle.
