Groundbreaking Held for Old Pasadena Project

Share

More than 120 business owners and supporters of the $70-million One Colorado Project attended groundbreaking ceremonies in Pasadena Monday, with about half hoisting shovels along with developer Doug Stitzel.

The San Francisco developer, whose Southern California work includes the One Rodeo Drive and Two Rodeo Drive projects in Beverly Hills, took over the Old Pasadena project in 1988, after six years of previous development efforts failed. His partnership, Pasadena Preservation Associates, includes Berisford Ltd. and AM Partners.

Stitzel will begin work first on a new $7-million, three-story section that will include an AMC eight-screen movie theater at the center of the 3.2-acre project, whose boundaries are Colorado Boulevard, Union Street and DeLacey and Fair Oaks avenues.
