Countywide : Raytheon to Help Workers Find Jobs

Share

Raytheon Co. officials said Monday that they will try to transfer some of the 400 workers who will be laid off from their Oxnard plant to other facilities in the state.

The Raytheon plant, operating in Oxnard since the late 1940s, will close in mid-May, eliminating jobs for all employees at the telemetry facility.

The telemetry company has facilities in Goleta and Mountain View.

In addition, Raytheon will help employees find new jobs at other area businesses. Raytheon also will offer classes to employees on resume writing, interviewing skills and other job-hunting activities, said Ed Powers, the company’s public relations manager.

The Oxnard plant was involved in manufacturing instrumentation used to measure the performance of missile systems during test flights.
