WORLD : East German Exodus Dropping

The East German exodus to the West has slowed down since the country’s first free elections over the weekend, according to figures released today.
Only 1,156 East Germans registered to settle in West Germany on Tuesday, compared to 2,275 on the same day last week, an Interior Ministry spokeswoman said.
