Porsche, Mercedes Holding Talks: The two West German auto makers said they are negotiating a “joint production link.” But Porsche and Mercedes-Benz did not confirm an article in Die Welt, a West German newspaper, that said they would jointly develop and produce a sports car version of the mid-size Mercedes 300 model. Die Welt said the car is scheduled to debut at the Paris Auto Show in October.
