‘Declaration’ Causes Outpouring of Deeply Divided Opinions

You are to be commended for The Times’ much-improved, expanded coverage of gay and lesbian issues. You have been running a number of stories, including the one on lesbian college students, that have been fair, unbiased and supportive of the struggles we face in day-to-day life.

I do not know if you realize your newspaper is doing much to turn the tide against the hate and bigotry that still exists in so many places. You are, I believe, helping people bridge their differences to better understand one another.
