Cuba jammed a television broadcast from the United States for a second day today, accusing Washington of trying to impose “sex, drugs and violence Yankee television” on the country.

The Communist Party daily Granma dedicated nearly all of its front and back pages to articles and editorials condemning the start of U.S.-funded TV Marti, which began a three-hour test transmission early Tuesday and repeated it today.

Cuba said it successfully blocked out both broadcasts and predicted a lengthy electronic war with the United States.

On its front-page, Granma directly quoted words used by Castro during a recent visit to Brazil:

“Now the U.S. wants to impose its television on us illegally in a way which breaks all international laws: sex, drugs and violence Yankee television.”

“What can Yankee television teach our children?” Castro asked.
