Banana Pie Is a Breeze to Make

“Banana Breeze in Walnut Crust is a delicious but very rich dessert that I first tried a few years ago at a friend’s home,” Robin Vecchiarelli writes.

BANANA BREEZE IN WALNUT CRUST

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1/3 cup lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 bananas

Walnut Crust

Whipped cream

Chopped walnuts

Beat cream cheese and condensed milk until fluffy. Mix in lemon juice and vanilla.

Slice 3 bananas and layer in bottom of Walnut Crust. Cover with cream cheese mixture. Chill until ready to serve.

Garnish with whipped cream, remaining sliced banana and walnuts. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Walnut Crust

1/3 cup butter or margarine

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Mix together butter, cinnamon and sugar in saucepan over medium heat. Cook until bubbly around edges.

Remove from heat and add walnuts. Press into 9-inch pie pan. Chill. Makes 1 (9-inch) crust.
