“Banana Breeze in Walnut Crust is a delicious but very rich dessert that I first tried a few years ago at a friend’s home,” Robin Vecchiarelli writes.
BANANA BREEZE IN WALNUT CRUST
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 bananas
Walnut Crust
Whipped cream
Chopped walnuts
Beat cream cheese and condensed milk until fluffy. Mix in lemon juice and vanilla.
Slice 3 bananas and layer in bottom of Walnut Crust. Cover with cream cheese mixture. Chill until ready to serve.
Garnish with whipped cream, remaining sliced banana and walnuts. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Walnut Crust
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
Mix together butter, cinnamon and sugar in saucepan over medium heat. Cook until bubbly around edges.
Remove from heat and add walnuts. Press into 9-inch pie pan. Chill. Makes 1 (9-inch) crust.
