Fellow Plans to Study the Deaf in Europe
Laurie Guggenheim of El Cerrito, a senior at Pomona College, has been awarded a $13,000 fellowship from the Thomas J. Watson Foundation of Rhode Island for a year of independent study and travel abroad after graduation.
She plans to spend a year in Europe studying the sociology of deaf communities.
