Long Beach : Condominium Owners Get Support From Council
- Share via
The Long Beach City Council has declared its support for a group of condominium owners stuck with a sagging building that could collapse--but it is unclear what the city can or will do to help them.
Owners of the 78-unit Oceangate Square condominiums on West 4th Street took their story of cracks and structural weaknesses to the council this week, asking for city help to repair the faultily designed building, which was approved by the city.
The council, without promising anything specific, said the city would do whatever it legally could to assist the condominium owners. City officials have indicated some financial help may be available to low- and moderate-income residents of the complex.
