Mayor Brings Works by Chagall to Jerusalem

JERUSALEM —
Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek returned from a weekend trip to Paris on Monday clutching five suitcases filled with 200 works of art by the late Marc Chagall.
The drawings, sketches and paintings by the Soviet-born Jewish artist had been promised to the Israel Museum by the artist’s daughter, Ida, more than 20 years ago. Kollek acted as courier for the museum, a museum spokesman said.
