Egypt

It was good to read that the president of Egypt went to Libya in a show of solidarity to support Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi over the fire in the chemical (I use this term loosely) plant in Rabata (Part A, March 25). The solidarity was of course against all nations (including the U.S.) that believe that Kadafi should not have the facilities to manufacture poison gas. (He already has enough plastic to blow up the Middle East.)

This action by President Mubarak of Egypt brings to mind two thoughts:

1) To reconsider our financial support for Egypt. (Can you imagine if Israel were to show support for Kadafi.)

2) To understand why the Israelis do not trust President Mubarak to oversee any Middle East peace negotiations. Can you blame them?
