Students Overlooked

Share

I am a student at UC San Diego, and I feel compelled to write this letter in response to your Feb. 25 feature on our Chancellor Richard Atkinson (“The Gentle Persuader”) and your March 25 piece on the UCSD Course and Professor Evaluation publication (UCSD Professors Get Good Marks in Student Critiques”).

In both articles, the only student voice commenting on these issues was the editor of the CAPE. Do your writers forget that UCSD exists for the students , or are they so blinded by Establishment ideals that they willingly fail to consider student opinions valid input in an article about our university.

I know that myself and many of my peers have markedly oppositional views from the rosy subjectivity of these articles, and I hope that in the future our knowledge is utilized on university matters in this newspaper.
