Laurel and Hardy’s Laughing ‘20s (TNT, Monday at 9 a.m.): This 1965 anthology is one of Robert Youngson’s best vintage comedy compilations, highlighted by many of Stan and Ollie’s most memorably hilarious moments. (2:00)

Phantom of the Paradise (KTLA, Tuesday at 2 a.m.): This 1974 release is a rock “Phantom of the Opera,” with a touch of Faust thrown in, by Brian De Palma. Edited. (2:00)

Pennies From Heaven (TMC, Wednesday at 11:30 p.m.): The 1981 musical is in essence an art film, a work of fantasy so sttlized and sophisticated to be rightly described as experimental. Steve Martin lip-syncs his way through Depression-era standards as a Chicago sheet-music salesman who falls on hard times-and in love with schoolteacher Bernadette Peters, even though he is married. Lifeguard (TNT, Thursday at 7:20 p.m.): This 1976 release is one of the overlooked gems of the decade. Sam Elliott stars as a dashing yet reflective Southern California lifeguard on the wrong side of 30, whose encounter with Anne Archer at a high school reunion proves pivotal. Written by Ron Koslow and directed by Daniel Petrie. (2:00)
