World IN BRIEF : AUSTRIA : $3 Million Stolen in Record Train Heist

Train robbers shot and killed a postal worker and stole $3 million in Austrian currency from a mail car in what police said was the biggest heist in the history of Austria’s postal service. The robbery near Vienna prompted postal authorities to post a $25,600 reward for the three thieves. The bandits stole moneybags containing about 35 million Austrian schillings before walking off the train unnoticed when it stopped in the suburb of Huetteldorf.
