No Felony Charges for Operation Rescue Leaders
No felony conspiracy charges will be filed against two Operation Rescue leaders and two other anti-abortion activists who were among 246 people arrested Saturday during a demonstration outside a Mid-Wilshire family planning clinic, prosecutors said Monday.
Instead, the cases were referred to city prosecutors for the possible filing of misdemeanor trespassing charges, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the district attorney.
Gibbons said there was insufficient evidence to file felony conspiracy charges against Joseph Foreman and Jeff White, two regional leaders of the group, and David Douglass and William Lundy.
Mike Qualls of the city attorney’s office was unable to immediately say whether charges yet been filed against any of the arrestees.
