Johnny Carson’s first wife says she can’t survive on the $13,500 he pays her annually and is suing for more, her attorney said.

Joan (Jody) Carson, Carson’s wife of 14 years and the mother of his three sons, is asking him for $120,000 a year, said celebrated matrimonial lawyer Raoul Felder.

Jody Carson, who told her story on the syndicated television show, “A Current Affair,” Monday night, said she has been forced to move around and even stayed with her mother in a nursing home for several months last year.

“I am in a small apartment in New York, living off the little I’ve saved,” Jody Carson, 63, told columnist Cindy Adams in today’s New York Post. “I’ve had lots of illness. Not just physical. I’ve been in a mental-health facility for panic disorders.”

Since his marriage to her in 1949, Carson has divorced and remarried three times. Carson reportedly earns $40 million a year.
