Cerritos : Pipe Bomb Blows Hole in Block Wall at Junior High
No suspects have been arrested nor a motive established in a pipe bomb explosion near a junior high school, sheriff’s arson and explosives investigators said Wednesday.
A two-foot hole was blown in a cinder-block wall at the northwest corner of Haskell Junior High School on Tuesday morning, investigators said. A galvanized pipe containing as yet undetermined explosives was placed in a drainage hole in the wall, they said.
There were no evacuations and no one was injured. Students were in class at the time of the blast.
Principal Ron Murphy said there has been no trouble at the campus on Del Amo Boulevard in Cerritos.
