Conviction of John Poindexter

Your editorial “The Buck Stops Here” (April 9) is typical of left-leaning, anti-Reagan, anti-Republican sentiment of your newspaper. You have it all wrong in the eyes of many of us who recognize the threat of communism to our national security; it is the Congress of the United States that was on trial! Their on-again, off-again policies regarding the Contras drove these men of honor and distinction to desperate answers to save us from the communist cancer in Central America.

The liberals in Congress, just as in Watergate, will exact their revenge. I, and many of us would like to see Admiral Poindexter pardoned, if not given a medal for the sacrifice.
