Celebrating Earth Day

Share

After several hundred years of raping and plundering the Earth, we have just begun to see the error of our ways. The lonely voice of the environmentalist is finally being heard.

Too bad we didn’t pay attention to the first environmentalists, the Native Americans. The Indians knew how to live in harmony with their environment, and they were willing to share the land and all they knew with us. But we had no place for them on our land and in our hearts.

We herded them onto small reservations and destroyed their culture. Now we are reaping what we’ve sowed.

My Earth Day recommendation: Return the land to the Indians and put the white man on the reservations.
