Peru TV Executive Freed by Guerrillas
Pro-Cuban guerrillas have freed a prominent television executive who was kidnaped in October in Lima, police said Sunday.
Hector Delgado Parker, owner of Peru’s largest television and radio network, was reported in good condition after being held for more than six months by the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement.
Details of his release were not made available, and it was not known whether a ransom was paid.
A videotaped message by a Tupac Amaru leader was broadcast by Delgado Parker’s Channel 5 television station Wednesday night. An announcer said the broadcast was one of the kidnapers’ demands for Delgado Parker’s release.
