From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The star prosecution witness in the Bensonhurst racial trial testified she saw four white teen-agers draw guns and chase black youths moments before one of them was fatally shot. Gina Feliciano, a white woman whose plans to invite blacks and Latinos to a party allegedly set the stage for the killing, defended her testimony in three hours of questioning by defense lawyers in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn. Feliciano, an admitted drug abuser, denied saying that her black and Latino friends were coming to beat up Keith Mondello, who is charged with second-degree murder in the 1989 death of Yusuf Hawkins. Prosecutors say Hawkins, 16, and his friends were mistaken for Feliciano’s friends and attacked. Mondello, 19, is on trial with Joseph Fama, 19, the alleged triggerman.
