WORLD : Egyptian Police Kill 3 Muslims
From Times wire services
ASSIUT, Egypt —
Egyptian police shot three Muslims to death today and wounded 22 others after the dawn prayer at the start of the Eid al-Fitr religious feast, security sources said.
They said the clash occurred in the southern town of Manfalout when about 200 people tried to hold a traditional annual religious march after the Eid prayer despite earlier warnings by local authorities.
Police arrested about 150 people, and the sources said the crowds damaged a parked car and tried to set fire to three pharmacies.
