Money Supply Rises: The narrowest measure of the nation’s money supply, M1, rose in the week ended April 16 to a seasonally adjusted $810.4 billion from $806 billion a week earlier. A broader measure, M2, rose to a seasonally adjusted $3,277.5 billion from $3,275.1 billion the week before. M1 includes cash in circulation, deposits in checking accounts and non-bank travelers checks. M2 is M1 plus accounts such as savings deposits and money market mutual funds.
