The value of home building permits issued in the county was up 5% over 1989’s level. During the First two months of this year (the most recent information available), permits for $248.9 million were let. That’s also the first year-to-year two-month increase since 1987. The January-February totals for 1988 and 1989 were both 4% lower than the year before.
