ROME — Led by the father of an 8-year-old girl who was held by kidnapers for 78 days, about 2,000 people marched through Rome on Saturday demanding that the government step up its battle against abductions.
The marchers included relatives of five people still in the hands of kidnapers.
“We want to show we are united,” said Imerio Tacchella, a sportswear manufacturer whose daughter, Patrizia, was freed by police April 17.
