DANGEROUS LIAISONS

Last year, I found myself in the hospital having a “corization” operation before I knew what hit me. Let me emphasize that I am a 40-year-old, single, “sexually discriminating,” intelligent woman. I was shocked, humiliated and uninformed. My friends are equally uninformed. The men I know and meet are totally ignorant; the use of condoms is not widespread and is frowned upon by the males I know. I have been basically celibate since my operation as I have been scared to death. Most people have not been in my situation or do not realize that there are other diseases besides AIDS (which alone should be enough to encourage people to behave safely and responsibly.

Every junior high, high school and college should make this article and others like it mandatory reading for students and their parents.
