From Times Wire Services

Negotiators for Greyhound and striking drivers met with federal mediators today in an effort to get bargaining talks reopened in the violence-plagued walkout, now in its third month.

Before the meeting, both sides complained that the other is holding up negotiations.

Greyhound Vice President Anthony P. Lannie said union demands that jobs now held by replacement drivers go back to strikers are “just the latest obstacle they’ve thrown up. This all-or-nothing attitude about replacement drivers is totally contrary to the assurances we’ve made.”

Edward M. Strait, president of the Amalgamated Council of Greyhound Local Unions, said he is not hopeful that negotiations will resume soon.
