Jose Norman, 83, a British-born musician and composer who, after marrying a Cuban woman and operating her family’s coffee plantation, was forced out of Cuba by Fidel Castro. Norman came to Los Angeles in 1960 after living in Cuba’s Oriente Province for 11 years and became president of the Cuban Refugee Committee of Southern California. For the next several years, he spoke throughout the area encouraging the United States to drive out the Cuban leader. On Tuesday of cancer at his West Hollywood home.
