Washington Irving Branch Library

As a Friend of the Washington Irving branch library, I would like to thank you for your editorial. A library is much more than just a building; it is the books and other materials and the trained staff who help people use them.

Our community needs a library that will meet our needs well into the 21st Century. It should be of sufficient size, with adequate parking, and accessible to public transportation. I also strongly believe that the present building should be preserved and brought up to safety standards so that it can be used for another community purpose. That would give us the best of both worlds.
