More than 2,000 species and cultivars of rare and exotic plants will be on sale at the Huntington Botanical Gardens, 1151 Oxford Road in San Marino, during its 16th annual benefit plant sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

The benefit’s theme is “Mediterranean Plants,” and many of the plants featured will be drought-tolerant.

Among the plants offered will be the newly introduced Achillea “Summer Pastels”; “Quasti,’ a new lavender cultivar with large purple flowers atop silver foliage; Artemesia “Powis Castle,’ a recent arrival from England; hard-to-find David Austin roses, and familiar plants, such as olive, bay laurel, pomegranate, rock rose, succulents and palms.
