S. Africa Lifts Ban on Official ANC Journal

CAPE TOWN, South Africa —
South Africa said Friday it had lifted longstanding bans on the official journal of Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress, the main black opposition group.
The journal, which voices ANC policy, was declared undesirable in 1976, and its importation was banned in 1981.
