West Coast Video Loses Plea: A Los Angeles Superior Court judge Wednesday denied a request by West Coast Video Ltd. for a temporary restraining order in a breach-of-contract suit against MCA Inc. West Coast’s suit claims that MCA agreed to team up with West Coast in an exclusive campaign to tout the opening of Universal Studios Florida. But MCA allegedly backed out and reached a similar agreement with West Coast’s rival, Blockbuster Entertainment Corp. Judge Edward M. Ross denied West Coast’s request to temporarily block the Blockbuster promotion, but the suit remains pending. (Filed May 16, 1990. Case No. BC001291)
