CYPRESS : Citizens to Advise Council About Trees

Share

To help appease tree-conscious residents, the City Council has formed a “tree committee.”

The committee will deal with citizens’ complaints and city policies concerning the trimming and removal of trees. Committee decisions will be advisory to the City Council.

Two full-time crews are in charge of maintaining the city’s 9,000 trees. The city is now removing about 100 trees to make way for a development project. Once that is completed, another 1,500 trees are expected to be planted.

Citizens interested in becoming members of the committee may get an application at the public works department, said Robert Beardsley, director of public works.
