From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

Entertainer Frank Sinatra’s latest act can be found on supermarket shelves. Ol’ Blue Eyes has joined Paul Newman in the pasta sauces business.

Sinatra unveiled his three varieties of sauce--tomato basil with Parmesan, Milano style and marinara with mushrooms--during a Monday evening gathering at Melrose Avenue’s trendy Mortons restaurant.

Grocery stores in Nevada and Northern California have been selling the 25-ounce jars with their tasty black labels for months. The Sinatra sugo da tavola Italian sauce hit Southern California markets this week.

Sinatra also said his company, like Newman’s, shares its profits with charity.
