Chinese Chess Player Wins Grandmaster Title

BEIJING —
China, the world’s most populous nation, has finally produced a chess champion worthy of the title grandmaster in the eyes of the International Chess Federation.
Ye Rongguang, 27, was the first Chinese to be given the coveted title after his international grade score reached 2,500 points, the official New China News Agency said.
