NATION : Pair Assault AIDS Columnist
A man who writes a newspaper column about his daily struggles with AIDS was thrown through a restaurant window, police said today.
Clifford Moyers, who writes a “Living with AIDS” column in the Columbia Tribune each Sunday, was hospitalized in stable condition.
Moyers said he was discussing gay rights with friends at a restaurant when men at a neighboring table “started making ‘faggot’ remarks against us.” He was thrown through a plate-glass window in the foyer, police said.
Two men were arrested and released on bond.
