Father Theodore M. Hesburgh, president emeritus of the University of Notre Dame and holder of the world’s most honorary doctorates, has added another notch to his cap and gown.

Hesburgh just took on his 121st honorary degree, a doctorate of honorary letters, from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. He delivered a speech at the school’s 100th anniversary commencement on Sunday.

Hesburgh’s academic laurels are already listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The priest, who retired as Notre Dame president in 1987, topped Herbert Hoover’s 89 honorary degrees in 1982.
