FOR GOOD MEASURE?

As a woman who believes strongly in the importance of utilizing the human mammary gland for its primary, original intent--feeding babies--I hope women who chose breast augmentation and physicians who perform the surgery are careful to consider the ramifications of the procedure. In order for a mother to breast-feed her baby, her milk ducts must be intact. With great care during breast-augmentation surgery (or breast reduction, for that matter), it is possible to avoid severing the milk ducts so that a woman would have the option of breast-feeding in the future. Even if breast-feeding is the last thing on a woman’s mind, it doesn’t hurt to plan ahead.
