New Huntington Librarian: William A. Moffett, director of libraries at Oberlin College, Ohio, has been appointed librarian of the Huntington Library, art collections and botanical gardens in San Marino. Moffett, 58, will oversee the library’s distinguished collections of more than 600,000 books, 750,000 prints, maps and photographs and over 2 million manuscripts. The appointment is effective Sept. 1. Moffett will succeed Daniel H. Woodward, who has been Librarian since 1972 and is stepping down to become a senior research associate and to work on special projects.
