The County Board of Supervisors will choose next Tuesday from among three firms vying to curate the inaugural art exhibit at the new John Wayne Airport Terminal, due to be dedicated Sept. 7. The three candidates are San Francisco-based Community Arts Inc., Newport Beach-based Art Resource Group and Santa Ana-based Professional Art Services. The chosen firm will receive a $30,000 contract to curate the show, which will probably remain on exhibit through mid-December.
An anonymous donor has given $100,000 to the Pacific Symphony. The gift is the largest cash donation in the 11-year history of the orchestra, according to Randolph Johnson, president of the Irvine-based orchestra. The money will be used to support programs at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and for outreach and educational concerts.
