Controversy Over State Lottery’s New Game to Increase Jackpots

Share

So the lottery officials have decided to enlarge the jackpot and diminish the chances of winning, all in the hope of boosting sales! I am incredulous.

I have done my own small survey for several months among my friends. We all agree that it would be much better (and we would play more regularly) if the jackpot were not so big and there were more “big” money winners. More money should be won for getting three, four or five out of the six numbers. I would bet a lot more people would play for the chance of $50, for example, for three numbers than for the $5 one now receives. It simply makes sense.

I challenge the lottery officials to try this for a month and see what happens.
