40,000 Children Dead in 15-Year Lebanon War

BEIRUT — The U.N. International Children’s Fund in Lebanon said Tuesday that more than 40,000 children have been killed in 15 years of civil war and that an entire generation has grown up “with fear in their hearts and panic in their minds.”
UNICEF representative Andre Roberfroid said the situation must be denounced as unacceptable and inhuman.
