Monrovia : Sprinkler-Standard Review

Share

Complaints at Tuesday’s City Council meeting prompted Mayor Robert Bartlett to ask Fire Chief Mark Foote for a review of the city’s fire-sprinkler standards.

Steve Abernathy, a Sierra Madre police officer who lives in Monrovia, told the council that he believes Monrovia’s standards have fallen behind those of surrounding cities and said he can identify projects where sprinklers are not functioning adequately or have not been installed.

City Manager James Starbird told the council that he would meet with Abernathy to determine whether there are buildings in the city whose fire sprinklers do not meet standards.
