WORLD IN BRIEF : CHINA : Beijing Frees 97 More Protesters

China freed 97 people jailed for their part in last year’s pro-democracy demonstrations in a move foreign diplomats said was designed to improve the sagging image of Beijing’s Communist rulers. The amnesty was announced two days after the anniversary of last June’s bloody crackdown.
