Four thieves walked into the I. Magnin department store in La Jolla Monday morning and, at gunpoint, stole at least $100,000 in jewelry, police reported.
The robbers, who made no attempt to hide their faces, were described as men in their 20s, one of whom wielded a shotgun. They told a store employee to open two cases containing high-priced jewelry and put the contents into white bags and then fled in a gray van, said police spokesman Bill Robinson.
“It was a pretty brazen robbery,” Robinson said of the 11:20 a.m. heist at the department store in the 8600 block of Villa La Jolla Drive.
Police have no suspects in the case, he said.
