David E. Zion; Service Set for Radiologist
A memorial service is scheduled for noon today at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for David E. Zion, director of radiology at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital before it merged with Mt. Sinai Hospital in 1961 to form the medical center.
Zion, who was 79 when he died of kidney failure, was credited with many advancements in the field of gastrointestinal radiology during his tenure from 1955 to 1972, including the dedication of a new diagnostic center in 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor.
